CGI Construction in Huntington Beach, CA | Framework Contractors
We provide independent CGI cabinet, countertop, and kitchen remodel service across Huntington Beach. We’re not a manufacturer affiliate or authorized dealer, which means we recommend what actually holds up in your specific house, not what protects a corporate program. The thing that makes our CGI work different here is understanding what salt air and marine-layer moisture do to cabinet boxes, hinges, and finishes over five, ten, fifteen years. Call (844) 681-3590 for a straight answer on your project.
Why Huntington Beach Residents Choose Us for CGI Service
We’ve installed and serviced CGI cabinetry and countertops here for years, from 1950s beach cottages in 92648 to mid-century moderns in 92649, and we’ve handled similar work with our Fountain Valley CGI service. That matters because CGI products behave differently three blocks from the water than they do three miles inland. Noel Carbajal, our owner, spent decades building and remodeling across the Orange County corridor before starting Framework Contractors, and he’ll tell you the same thing he tells our crews: a cabinet that works fine in Santa Ana can fail fast in Huntington Beach if you don’t account for the climate. We use OEM CGI hardware and components whenever they’re available. When they’re discontinued or backordered, we use high-quality aftermarket slides and hinges that actually match the load ratings and finish, not whatever’s cheapest at the supply house. One contractor, every system, from the roof down to the foundation.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in Huntington Beach
- Corroded drawer slides and hinges in beachfront homes (92648, 92649). Salt air doesn’t politely wait for the cabinet warranty to expire. It attacks metal hardware within a few years. We replace corroded CGI slides and hinges with corrosion-resistant stainless or coated components, and we set the reveal and fit so the drawer doesn’t bind the first muggy week.
- Swollen and delaminated particleboard cabinet boxes. In older beach cottages with original 1950s-60s kitchens, marine-layer humidity gets into poorly ventilated spaces and breaks down the substrate. If the box is structurally sound, we repair it. If water has compromised the core, we tell you straight: replacement is the honest call.
- UV fading and chalking on painted or laminate CGI finishes. Strong coastal sun through old single-pane windows will dull and chalk surface finishes faster than almost anything else. We match finishes and can reface cabinets where the boxes are still solid, which often saves you thousands over a full replacement.
- Quartz countertop edge chipping and seam separation. Older Huntington Beach homes frequently have floors that have settled over decades. A seam that separates or an edge that chips often traces back to an unlevel cabinet base. We level and reinforce before setting the stone, then seal edges properly for the salt environment.
- Historic review and Coastal Commission snags on older beach properties. A kitchen remodel near Downtown Huntington Beach that changes windows or doors needs more than a standard permit. We’ll walk you through the exact submittals so your CGI finish schedule doesn’t stall in review.
CGI Service in Huntington Beach: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
In Huntington Beach’s coastal zones (92648, 92649), any kitchen or bath remodel that changes exterior windows or doors triggers California Coastal Commission review. That’s not a formality. The review adds months and requires specific product submittals, and if you sequence the work wrong, your cabinets are sitting in boxes while your permit sits on a desk. We build the CGI finish schedule and the coastal permit package in parallel from day one, so the cabinet lead time runs while the review runs. This is the single biggest difference between a contractor who knows Huntington Beach and one who just punched the address into a GPS.
CGI Models & Products We Service in Huntington Beach
We service CGI Euro-style full-overlay cabinets, shaker-style wood cabinets, quartz and granite countertops, and CGI cabinet refacing systems. The OEM-versus-aftermarket question comes up on almost every job. Our stance is simple: OEM parts when available to maintain fit and finish. Aftermarket only when OEM is discontinued or backordered, and only after we confirm the replacement matches the hardware’s weight rating, mounting pattern, and finish. We stock common replacement components locally so Huntington Beach turnaround doesn’t stall waiting on a pallet from out of state. Your materials, our craftsmanship.

FAQs – CGI Construction in Huntington Beach
No, not for cabinet replacement alone. Interior cabinet work that doesn’t alter exterior windows, doors, or square footage falls under standard city permitting. The Coastal Commission enters the picture when the remodel changes exterior openings or adds space. We’ll tell you on the first visit which path your project takes. Call (844) 681-3590 for a straight answer on your specific address.
Salt air corrodes metal hardware like drawer slides and hinges, often within a few years in the 92648 and 92649 zones. It also works into joints and finishes, accelerating wear on box frames and edge banding. We specify corrosion-resistant hardware and proper sealing on every beachfront CGI job, and we inspect for early-stage corrosion before it becomes a binding drawer or a failed hinge.
Yes, when the boxes and frames are structurally sound. Refacing gives you new doors, drawer fronts, and veneers over the existing structure, which works well for older beach cottages where the cabinet box has survived but the finish is tired. If water or corrosion has compromised the substrate, we’ll show you the damage and explain why replacement is the honest call. Call (844) 681-3590 and we’ll assess what you have.
Plan for six to twelve weeks depending on scope and permit path. A straight cabinet replacement runs faster. Anything touching Coastal Commission review or historic preservation in Downtown Huntington Beach adds anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. We sequence the permit package and the CGI finish schedule in parallel so you’re not paying for idle time, the same approach we use for our CGI service in Costa Mesa. Call (844) 681-3590 for a project-specific timeline.
Yes. Many remodel projects in the Surf City downtown area require historic preservation review before work starts. We have handled that process multiple times, including the documentation and product submittals the review board expects. The goal is getting your upgraded CGI kitchen approved without losing six months in a queue. Call (844) 681-3590 and we’ll walk you through what your property triggers.

We recently completed a kitchen remodel in a 1950s beach cottage near Downtown Huntington Beach (92648) where the original CGI cabinets had swollen and delaminated from years of marine-layer humidity. Our crew replaced the boxes with moisture-resistant CGI units, set new quartz with sealed edges, and upgraded to corrosion-resistant stainless hinges and slides. That kitchen now stands up to salt air and passed Coastal Commission review for the new window we added, just like projects we’ve completed with our CGI repair in Westminster. It’s the kind of job we do regularly in this city.
Noel’s rule on every job: build it right the first time, because the second time costs twice as much and nobody’s happy. Call (844) 681-3590 to schedule your free estimate and get a written line-item quote from a contractor who actually understands what Huntington Beach does to a kitchen.
